Cross-border services

New survey by the EU Commission

The Single Market is a key element of the European idea. Therefore it is a top priority of the EU Commission to make it as easy as possible for companies and consumers to offer and use services cross-border within the EU.

The services sector includes e.g. construction services, accounting services and engineering services. European consumers who use those services are protected by the Services Directive - please find more information in our respective section.

The public consultation covers the following three points:

  • Introduction of a services passport for key economic sectors;
  • Action to address regulatory barriers for key business services and for construction services;
  • Action on insurance requirements for business and construction service providers.

You can fill in the whole survey or - depending on knowledge and interest - single sections of it. You can participate until 26 July 2016.

Please find further information and the questionnaire here: Public consultation about the services sector
