Warning of locksmith services

Information by ECC Germany and Austria

They appear on top of search results, cross borders for assignments and suddenly demand tremendous amounts: Fraudful locksmith services from Germany are a thorn in the side of the European Consumer Centres.

The scams are always similar. In extrem cases, the providers have neither a business license for Austria nor a specialist training. They damage the door and then pressure the consumers to immediately pay the absurd price. The European Consumer Centres of Austria and Germany now inform on how consumers can protect themselves from such incidents and how they can find professional services.

Don't choose the first offer listed on search engines. Compare prices and don't call "0800"-phone numbers. Implausible offers (e.g. night services for only a few Euros) are not trustworthy.
