EURO 2016: Terror Alert App

Behaviour advice by the French goverment

Ahead of the Euro 2016 football tournament, France has launched an app that will alert users to attacks.


The free app, called SAIP (Population Alert and Information System), flashes a warning on a user's mobile phone screen if there is an attack close to their location.

Users can also request alerts for up to eight geographic areas, including individual districts in the capital.

Alerts will offer a brief description of what has happened as well as advice on how to stay safe.

The app is availabe in French and English and it is available to download for phones running both iOS and Android operating systems.
