Skiing in Austria more expensive again

Day tickets over 50 Euro

Ski holidays with the whole family are a luxury that becomes more expensive every year. This is once more shown in the results of the annual price comparison report conducted by the Verein für Konsumenteninformation (VKI) in cooperation with the European Consumer Centre Austria (ECC). The prices of tickets for one or six days in over 100 Austrian ski resorts were compared.

Conclusion: Especially big resorts are expensive. The trend of recent years to merge ski areas has supported this development. In some places, the day ticket for adults costs over 50 Euro by now.

The comprehensive report with detailed price tables is provided on konsument.at. It is only available in German.

Will air passenger rights change soon?

A new attempt for revised passenger rights in air travel is here. The initiative could lead to the replacement of the old Air Passenger Rights Regulation, especially in the area of delays and flight cancellations. This means that air travellers in the EU will get more rights in the future - but also fewer in certain cases.
