A new service for Austrian consumers: the gas price database!

After some technical setbacks, the gas price calculator of E-Control finally started today.

Aim: cheaper fuel prices

The database should lead to more transparency, competition and - on the long run - cheaper fuel prices, as the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy hopes.

Cheap gas station nearby

The gas price calculator shows drivers the prices of the five cheapest gas station nearby (including a map).

Furthermore, it gives information about opening hours and shop offers. The costs for creating the database were 60.000 Euro, a smartphone app is planned, said the Ministry.
