Roaming will be abolished in 2017

EU reaches internal agreement

The European Commission has reached an agreement regarding roaming and net neutrality with the European Parliament and the Council. To put it short: Starting with 15 June 2017, consumers will not be charged additional fees by their operators for calls, SMS and data consumption abroad.

In the following year, the EU regulations regarding telecommunications will be reformed and unified. The integration of net neutrality into EU law aims at making it possible for consumers to access all online content of their choice and for companies to be able to provide this content.
