The European Commission wants to simplify the conditions for online sale and purchase of goods for citizens and companies in the EU. As part of the "digital strategy", the Commission therefore performs a so called "public consultation" and asks for opinions and experiences of those affected. All citizens and companies, organisations and institutions can participate in the survey.
The outcome should help to discover problems especially regarding cross-border e-commerce. As of today, consumers tend to order within their national borders rather than from another EU Member State.
